  2. There are some minor technical differences. The Gohonzons made by Nichiren have his personal seal.

    The SGI Gohonzon is a Taisekiji Mandala. Taisekiji follows the Nikko Lineage protocol. Their Gohonzons are signed Nichiren Zaigohon; followed by the transciber's seal. Zaigohon means something like "by authority of." So the signature on their Gohonzon reads, Nichikan, by authority of Nichiren.

    The current SGI Gohonzon also omits the 4 provisional Bodhisattvas led by Fugen and Manjushri.
